The owners of this home had just moved in and we were asked for ideas that would make this staircase opening more appealing, easy to maintain and safe for the users of the stairs.
Through some initial discussion the owners were satisfied with a single piece of Toughened Glass in 12mm that would be a decorative addition to the homeowners taste.
To get the most accurate shape from this opening we use laser lines that allow us to measure exactly the correct shape required.
Once measured we provide a CAD drawing to the customer and then for glass processing
To keep the focus away from the fixings we chose small D shaped clamps that are both capable and fit for purpose. The clamps are made from Stainless Steel and are tried and tested for capability and longevity.
The Glass is 12mm in thickness and is ideal for this type of opening offering a fair cost for manufacturing. As with all our structural glass, this is made with 12mm and polished edges. We also have all the angles polished with a small radius to provide no sharp edges.
We allowed a morning to fit the glass and the original measure up and Cad drawing took a couple of hours
