This client had around 100 pictures and art pieces to hang throughout their beautiful home in Wiltshire. These were distributed across various rooms in the house, including the bedrooms, kitchen, hallways, snug, and the formal living room. For the central staircase and the snug, a picture gallery was required.
There can be a lot of to-and-fro when building a gallery for a room in the house. To get the right balance so that the art works together as a gallery is down to the client’s taste and the wall it’s mounted upon.
Other factors like lighting, surrounding furniture and the mood the gallery can be a decision factor.
Fortunately for us, this client had pre-laid all the art on the floor area, and once everything was agreed, we were able to start taking measurements and transferring the art from floor to wall.
We use various mounting techniques for all wall mounted pictures and art. We choose to use both laser level to align the frames and then double checked by eye before moving on to the next.
The picture hanging and art installations was spread over 2 full days with one person. The advantage of a client who knew exactly where each piece of art was to be hung sped up the process.
The Customers property was in a small village to the south of Marlborough, Wiltshire
